COLONIAL DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE
I circulate herewith for the information
of the Committee copies of:-
(a) Telegraphic correspondence between
the Governor of Hong Kong and the Colonial
Office arising out of the Secretary of State's
circular telegram of the 7th of August last on
the subject of the Colonial Development Act.
(b) A memorandum by the Far Eastern Department
in the Colonial Office regarding the thres
projects referred to in the telegrams.
It will be observed (1) that the Secretary
of State does not recommend for approval the
proposal that the purchase of engines for the
Kowloon-Canton Railway should be assisted from
the Colonial Development Fund, and that as
regards the other schemes :
(2) The construction of a cross-harbour water
pipe line, and
(3) The development of the Aerodrome, the
Committee are not required to take any action
for the present.
